About the Event

In China, it’s called yuè zǐ  - the month sitting. In Latin America, it’s called la quarentena. In some places around the world, a road is well paved for a mother's body to recover and heal from birth and pregnancy, and to help the mother and baby slowly adjust, adapt and discover their new normal. Post birth, an 8-inch wound is left in the uterus from the placenta detachment and the female body undergoes the biggest hormonal change it will ever experience. Beyond the loss of necessary nutrients and vitamins that the woman’s body needs replenished of, it is not only her body that undergoes a major change, but her soul. The birth of a baby is a birth of a mother, and often the latter can be more challenging. Preparing for postpartum by making a plan to care for the mother - mind, body, and soul - as she cares for her newborn baby can make a 100% difference in the mother’s mental, emotional and behavioral health. As a major life event and rite of passage, to plan for and invest in those months of postpartum is an investment that will last a lifetime. This class is for anyone looking for a peaceful and restorative postpartum that is different from what has become expected and normal.
